Inspired by her call for submissions, "Chocolate Cake" first appeared in One Night Only: Explicit Erotica, edited by Violet Blue. I made it available for sale today at Smashwords, the last story I will publish in 2013.

If you acquired a new e-reader yesterday, check out the many short stories and collections I have available for sale there, as well as at Kobo, Sony, and Barnes & Noble. You'll also find my collections and novels in all formats at All Romance (I.G. Frederick) OmniLit (Korin Dushayl) and for Kindle only at Amazon.

Chocolate Cake: Her submissive toys wait for her at home, but Louise finds an offer by an attractive Dom as tempting as Chocolate Cake.

Damn, he's good, she thought in a moment of lucidity. "Stop it you bastard," she mumbled around the gag, making sure she could still safeword if she needed to. She very much doubted that would be necessary.

So, when I was treated to the experience, I observed details that may go unnoticed by those who regularly patronize such establishments. Those caused me to ask my muse's standard question, "What if?" and the answer inspired inspired the story Spa Date.

Dismayed that she introduced Sam to the woman who betrayed her, Julie tries to fix her up again.

"Unable to resist, Sam leaned over and sucked Yen's tongue into her mouth. It tasted of hops. With one hand at the base of Yen's neck, Sam pressed their lips together and her other hand glided up Yen's thigh to her tiny waist and glorious tit. The nipple sprang to attention against Sam's palm and the pace of Yen's breathing doubled."

Last week I defended the eroticization of male domination as something that can be feminist and transgressive. I wrote the piece for Female First because self-identified "feminists" object to statements such as "freedom is slavery," "submissiveness is empowering," and "BDSM erotica is feminist."

They claim these are "lies that patriarchal culture has served up for women." Of course, they shut down any contradictory comments. So, I took my statement to a larger forum.

Saturday on Book Reviews I discussed "What Some Women Tops and Bottoms Have in Common" (besides the obvious).

The post arose from my observation that, although the context differs depending on their position in the D/s dynamic, many women abdicate the responsibility for their pleasure to their partners.

Inspired by a true story told to me long ago, “Aunt” Grace is one of my favorite stories. The characters within it developed organically into, as Jen would say, "Hawt" women. It won second place in the National Leather Association: International John Preston Short Story Award for excellence in literary works in SM/leather/fetish writing.

Today, I'm thrilled to share an excerpt of the story, sexily read by La Crimson Femme, as part of the Goodreads BDSM group's BDSM BedTime Stories series.

La Crimson Femme also interviewed the story's protagonist, Jen. You can read it on Goodreads, if you're a member, or on her blog.

Montana District Judge G. Todd Baugh's outrageous victim-blaming comments defending his commuting of a pedophile rapist's sentence angered me. The child killed herself because of what her 54-year-old teacher, Stacey Rambold, did to her.

Baugh claimed the 14-year-old rape victim looked "older than her chronological age" and was "as much in control of the situation" as the man forty years her senior.

Baugh's revolting and all-too-common attitude hit a nerve. When I was a child, I looked and acted older than my chronological age and I almost became a rape victim. I wrote about my ordeal for Truthout's SpeakOut on Friday and republished the piece on my own blog today.

The first two pairs of stories for Fork in the Road developed serendipitously. When I sought an idea for the third pair, I happened to have recently read a blog by someone reminiscing about a stop in Nevada where he parlayed a few dollars into enough money to get home. He also wrote about what could have happened if he'd lost his last couple of bucks.

The potential difference in outcomes inspired Winners & Losers: When Jeffrey finally walks away from the blackjack table, he finds someone worth gambling on. In two short stories, whether Jeffrey wins or loses determines his approach to Lisa, and her reaction.

"He perused the menu with one eye on the red-headed waitress who had a bosom that begged for a man to bury his face in it and hips one could grab onto if one were ramming into her which he had an overwhelming desire to do."

Available at Smashwords (epub), Amazon (Kindle), and other online retailers.

When I published Fork in the Road, I mentioned that the concept for the collection began with an idea for a story with a twist near the beginning. Because I couldn't decide which way worked best and, much to my surprise, the characters ended up in the same place either way, I thought it would be fun to write both stories.

In that story, Proposals, the evening appears perfectly arranged for him to pop the question. But, Christopher's proposition takes Geraldine on an unanticipated sexual adventure. Two short stories show how Geraldine's reaction alters when Christoper's secret changes.

"The waiter led them to a table covered in crisp white linen next to the wall of windows. With the city straddling the river far below them, Gerry silently wished the majority of her friends were correct, even though until she met Chris she had no interest in getting married again."

Available at Smashwords (epub), Amazon (Kindle), and other online retailers.

This pair of stories began as a single selection for Family Dynamics. I decided to include the common search for a single, bisexual female to join an established male Dom/female slave family. But, when I reached the point where Tessa's Master informed her he wanted to find another girl, I couldn't decide how she would react.

So, I wrote the story both ways -- in one she acquiesces after much thought and in the second she runs away. Only the former appears in Family Dynamics.

In Said the Unicorn, Tessa dedicates herself to her Master's service, so his determination to add another woman to their family devastates her. Two short stories show how Tessa's reaction changes her relationship with her Master.

"Marie crawled forward and Tessa cringed. This was the part she knew would hate most -- watching anyone else please her Master. Marie unzipped his fly and extracted his already semi-erect cock from his boxers."

Available at Smashwords (epub), Amazon (Kindle), and other online retailers.

Too often when monogamy-only propagandists discuss non-monogamy, they only refer to the concept of a man cheating on his wife. But, non-monogamy involves everything from open marriages to relationships between more than two people. (By which I mean that all individuals are involved in a relationship of some kind with all the others in that grouping.) And, of course, there are many flavors in between.

Even the term "leather family" has as many definitions as the people who participate in the concept. In Family Dynamics I explore sexuality combinations and options in Dominant and submissive liaisons. The six sultry stories include: "“Aunt” Grace," "Leather Family:," "Searching," "Taking Control," "Family Ties," and "Now That We See Each Other, Said the Unicorn."

Available in Kindle, PDF, and ePub versions at All Romance. Also available at Smashwords (ePub only), Amazon (Kindle only), and other online retailers.

When two people love each other but don't share a need for kink (or even the same kink) the relationship often disintegrates. Some couples discover the disparity in their needs for BDSM earlier in their relationship than others. "Family Ties" explores a long-term relationship ripped apart by kink disparities and a solution rarely considered.

When her slave's ex faces eviction, Katherine offers refuge. But can Naomi pay the price to repair "Family Ties"?

"Naomi followed her instructions, but winced every time the terry cloth came into contact with her damaged skin. Katherine couldn't help getting turned on by the other woman's pain."

The original version of "Taking Control" appeared as "Three Way" in Xcite Books' Lesbian Love Volume 3. Exclusive rights to the story expired just in time for its inclusion in Family Dynamics which I will publish this summer.

In "Taking Control" Melanie must set aside her own aversion to men to free the woman she loves from a horrid sadist's perverted games.

"Melanie pulled her lips from Theresa's mouth and kissed her way along the line of her neck stopping for a moment at the base of her throat before moving down to her breasts. She licked from chest to dark areolas until Theresa's nipples begged to be sucked and Melanie obliged."

I confess. I have no clue where this tale came from. Since stories I want to write and commitments on other projects often conflict, I have an "idea" folder. Concepts get stashed there until they match a project or no other idea is clamoring for my attention at that moment.

Last fall, as National Novel Writing Month approached, I had several novel concepts rattling around, but none really grabbed me and said "WRITE ME NOW."

These days I'm reluctant to start NaNoWriMo without an outline which I was running out of time to develop. So, I cruised through my idea file to see if anything sparked my interest. In my ideas folder, most files range in length from a sentence to a few paragraphs -- an opening line, a character description, a setting, an encounter.

Choices was a complete synopsis. I don't remember writing it. I don't remember what inspired the concept. But at that moment, the story grabbed me and demanded to be written NOW.

The thematic issue of poly love is particularly poignant as the definitions of marriage shift yet again and relationships morph into new paradigms. The driving force behind the story -- a woman's sexual needs -- also is timely given that female sex drive has recently been discovered (again) by the media and male researchers.

In the end, about the only change I made to the original story was point of view decisions, some logistical alternatives, and delving deeper into some areas that were glossed over in the original synopsis.

WARNING: before you consider reading this book, please remember it is one of the reasons most of my novels are now published under Korin Dushayl. Do not read this book if you're looking for a happy ending.

From fairy tales to modern legal tradition, society demands we love exclusively, even though many only find happiness with multiple partners. Linda finally confronts long neglected sexual needs when Phil forces himself on her in Chicago. But back in Portland, her husband's insistence on monogamy compels her to choose between his limitations and her own insatiable desires.

Available in print at Create Space and in pdf, mobi, and epub at OmniLit. You can also find the print and mobi versions at Amazon.

One question I get asked frequently is "Where do you get ideas?" I always answer that many of my ideas come from asking the question: "What if ...?"

But every story has twists and turns. Characters make choices that change the outcome, sometimes drastically. At other times the characters just take another path to the same destination.

I had an idea for a story that had one of those twists near the beginning. I couldn't decide which way worked best. Much to my surprise, the characters ended up in the same place either way, so I thought it would be fun to write both stories.

In fact, I enjoyed the experience so much, I decided to do it again. And again. Three pairs of stories with a twist in each one show how a Fork in the Road changes people's lives, and relationships.

Because this collection is unique, I'm offering it first as an anthology. I also will publish the individual pairs of stories later this summer for those who prefer less variety. (Stories in the collection encompass FemDom, Male Dom, ménage, and vanilla).

Fork in the Road includes:

"Proposals" -- The evening appears perfectly arranged for him to pop the question. But, Christopher's proposition takes Geraldine on an unanticipated sexual adventure.

"Said the Unicorn" -- Tessa dedicates herself to her Master's service, so his determination to add another woman to their family devastates her.

"Winners & Losers" -- When he finally walks away from the blackjack table, Jeffrey finds someone worth gambling on.

You can buy Kindle, PDF, and ePub versions at All Romance and it also is available at Smashwords (ePub only), Amazon (Kindle only), and other online retailers.

As a rule, I avoid writing about writers. We lead boring lives, for the most part, tucked away with our computers desperately trying to get all the words in our head into a format that readers can enjoy. I also almost never write in coffee shops. For one, I think it's rude to use someone's retail space as an office. For another, I find it too distracting.

But, I am not my characters and the "What if a cover model for your favorite character walked into your life?" question was just too intriguing to resist.

"Gordon" is the second story written for Second Chances. For those who are curious, I did finally write a story suitable to submit to the editor who inspired it and "Back to School." But that led to a whole new project that I'm very excited about which I'll release in a few weeks.

Gordon: When the cover model of her latest book walks into the coffee shop where she writes, Lenore embarrassingly calls him by her character's name. His reaction confounds her.

"He turned her hand and pressed his lips to her fingers, looking down at her with a twinkle in his eyes. She had to grip the table with her other hand to keep from shuddering or worse batting her eyelashes."

Sometimes stories and characters run off in unplanned directions. I started writing "Back to School" with a specific editor and a specific publication in mind. About halfway through, I recognized the story idea had veered off in a direction that wouldn't fit in this particular collection. So I started another story. Halfway through that one, I recognized the same theme emerging and realized I was working on a new collection which I'm calling Second Chances.

I'm publishing the first of the stories from this collection today and then I'll return to work on yet another story for the editor who started all this.

An admin error forces Jordan and Dennis to share a dorm room. Older than their classmates, they decide to stick together. But Jordan's past threatens to keep them apart.

"Jordan tried to catch her breath and figure out how to answer his question. If it weren't for the embarrassingly wet panties ..."

I was honored to learn yesterday that “Aunt” Grace won second place in the National Leather Association: International John Preston Short Story Award for excellence in literary works in SM/leather/fetish writing published in 2012.

NLA-I is a leading organization for activists in the pansexual SM/leather community. The judges for the annual awards "received a greater number of nominations this year than ever before and judging in most categories was quite difficult with such exemplary pieces of writing," according to the NLA-I announcement.

My thanks to Shanna Germain for inspiring me to write the story and to a friend who very generously shared what it's like to be a female student in the Game Art & Design program at The Art Institute of Portland.

In “Aunt” Grace, Jen needed a place to stay in Portland and turned to her father's stepsister. But, she found so much more than she ever dreamed possible with her "Aunt" Grace.

"Grace leaned forward and rested her square chin on her laced fingers. She kept her straight blond hair cut just below her ears and had four studs, in the rainbow colors, in each lobe. The enticing scent of leather wafted across the table. 'There are things about me you don't know.' "

Introducing Korin Dushayl

Like many writers, I work in a variety of genres. Because all the stories I've published as I.G. Frederick have graphic sexual content, I always labeled them erotica.

But, they're not. Especially, Broken, Shattered, and Playing With Dolls.

Three things convinced me it was worth the work required to create a new pen name differentiating my mainstream/transgressive stories from my erotica.

1) I had a story accepted by an editor which involves rape. Not play rape, brutal vicious rape. Could it turn some readers on? Possibly. But, that's not its purpose. Since the story was acquired by a publisher, I had no intention of promoting it. I didn't want it associated with I.G. Frederick, even though I think it's a very good story.

2) TAS reviewed Broken and Shattered on Amazon and wrote: "It may be unfair to judge I.G. Frederick's "Shattered" and "Broken" as works of erotica even though both books are expressly marketed as such. I think these titles might more accurately be categorized as mainstream literary fiction with graphic descriptions of ritual domination and submission, and some explicit erotic content. But sex is not the real focus of these stories, and the sooner that is made clear up front, the better. The casual consumer of erotica brings a set of visceral expectations to any story, and has little patience for "meta-" anything. Needless to say, these books are not for that kind of reader."

3) My current work in progress is an erotic tragedy. Most readers who purchase erotica expect a happy-ever-after, or at the very least a happy-for-now ending. Although a compelling story, Choices won't appeal to readers seeking a formulaic ending.

So, Korin I. Dushayl, Transgressive Writer was born. Broken, Shattered, and Playing With Dolls have been republished under her name. As part of that, the covers have been spiffed up a bit and the formatting has been improved to provide better reading experiences.

I don't intend to establish a separate social media presence for Korin Dushayl. I don't promote my books excessively via SM anyway. News of her new work will appear here and on Livejournal and, of course, on the Transgressive Writer website. Check it out and let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see there (or here).

As I've mentioned in the past, ideas for so much of what I write start with the question "What if ...?" I'm working on a collection of stories, Family Dynamics, about the different ways leather families are structured. I covered the Dominant-female-with-two-male-slaves blend in Dommemoir so I saw no reason to tackle that one again.

I thought about doing a story about the common one-male-and-two-bisexual-females combination. Often, although not always, both females are submissive to the male. But, the prevalence of that unit makes it terribly unappealing. I'm interested in unusual not ordinary. From that, one "What if?" lead to another, giving birth to "Searching."

In "Searching," two dominants love each other, but need someone who submits to them both. Just how far will young Jesse go to serve the lovely Lady Theresa?
Jesse bolted upright, eyes wide, lips parted, breathing ragged. "Really? But, you're married."

Theresa laughed. "That doesn't mean I'm monogamous."

"Searching," also available on Amazon.

Since I rarely submit to traditional publishers these days, I find it amusing that two publications both intrigued me enough to submit and appeared in the virtual bookstores in the same months.

A year ago, Joan Price and Susana Mayer enticed me to send them some of my work. Both required a bit of consideration on my part -- Joan, because she insisted that everyone who contributed to what's now entitled Ageless Erotica admit to living at least fifty years and Susana, because what's become SenSexual: A Unique Anthology 2013 - Vol 1 & 2 offered contributors no compensation.

However, like Joan, I believe that older people should still have opportunities to explore their sexuality and Susana published SenSexual to support the Erotic Literary Salon which provides a supportive and non-judgmental arena for sharing erotica, sex-positive news, and discussions on various related topics. I enjoyed participating in the Las Vegas edition of the Salon as part of Sex in Sin City.

In the last couple of days, I received notification that you can now purchase both collections.

Ageless Erotica, a steamy anthology of erotic stories and memoir essays written for a mature audience by writers over the age of 50, includes my story "Lady Bella" as well as work by writers I know well (including D.L. King and Kate Dominic whom I also met at Sex in Sin City), some I only know by reputation, and names that are new to me.

Edited by senior sex expert and advocate Joan Price, this collection is full of erotica seniors can relate to -- embracing the agelessness of sexuality while still encompassing the changes that accompany aging. Some selections are tender and loving, while others are edgy and kinky. But whether characters are going solo, having spicy sex with partners they love and have loved for decades, or engaging in casual encounters, every story included in these pages aims to arouse and to rejoice in the sensual side of aging.

SenSexual: A Unique Anthology 2013 Vol 1 includes three of my poems from Pain of Love. It's an eclectic collection of fiction, poetry, personal stories, and essays ranging from a nonagenarian's first erotica piece to eye-opening personal experiences to Hindu philosophy about sexuality and everything in between. Again, I find many of the authors are people I've known for years and the list of contributors includes everyone from first-time published writers to those who make their living creating erotica.

I'm not usually one for blog chains or tours, but Cecilia Tan invited me to join an intriguing "excursion."

Called "The Next Big Thing," each participating writer answers ten questions about their current project, and then asks authors they know to answer the same ten questions. It's been going around a bit, so many of the writers I asked had already been "tagged" to participate.

It's an interesting tour for readers to follow because of the variety of projects underway and the interrelationships of all the authors involved. It certainly offers an opportunity to entice readers into checking out writers they may not have encountered before by learning about their "Next Big Thing."

My Next Big Thing

1) What is the working title of your book? Choices

2) Where did the idea for the book come from? To be honest, I don't remember. I was perusing the folder where I record all my ideas for stories and novels, trying to decide which would become my next project. I stumbled across a complete synopsis I had written of a book that just grabbed me and said, "Write ME now."

3) What genre does it fall under? Erotic Tragedy

4) Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

5) What is the one sentence synopsis of your book? A tragic tale of poly love struggling to survive in a monogomous world.

6) Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? I will publish it myself.

7) How long did it take you to write the first draft? Sixteen days.

8) What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? I've never read anything like it and I'm not sure that Erotic Tragedy exists (yet) as a genre so I can't really say.

9) Who or what inspired you to write this book? Part of why this book appealed to me now is the constant stream of news stories in which cheating devastates lives, destroying marriages, shattering children's trust and family structure, ruining careers, etc. All this chaos is a result of the insistence that only a church-dictated (not Biblical, as that definitely supports polygamy) relationship structure is acceptable.

10) What else about your book might pique the reader's interest? From fairy tales to modern legal tradition, society demands we love exclusively, even though many only find happiness with multiple partners. Linda finally confronts her sexual needs when she meets Phil In Chicago. But back in Portland, her husband's insistence on monogamy forces her to choose between his limitations and her own fulfillment.

If you're just joining "The Next Big Thing" tour, you can link to some previous posts via Cecilia Tan who was tagged by Jason Rubis who had been tagged by M. Christian .

Happy New Year. For my first short story of 2013, I offer you Leather Family.

Leather Family's inspiration sprang from a conversation which included mention of a gay Master owning a woman. I've forgotten the rest of the discussion, but that one concept intrigued me. What if a leather family expanded to include members not sexually compatible with the Master of the House?

Kyle wants his own boy and Jacques desperately yearns for a place in a Leather Family. But, how does a gay man earn a position in a FemDom's home?

The story was first published in September of 2011 as "Family" in Xcite Books Her First Submission and other stories and is still available in that collection, so I've retained the British spellings.

"With two handsome naked boys in front of her and the view of Lisbet's bare arse still red from the paddling she had enjoyed earlier, Monica shook with orgasm. She refrained from crying out, instead gripping the arms of the chair as the spasms travelled from Lisbet's tongue through Monica's entire body."
