"Slave Nicholas and Lady Geneviéve's lives are not really that different of what we might call a normal life. After reading this book I have a better understanding of how they live and have a better understanding of their lifestyle. ... My short story "Three Way," along with five other erotic stories, currently appears in the Xcite anthology Lesbian Love Three, edited by Miranda Forbes.

"Three Way" tells the story of Melanie who fell in love with Theresa, then discovered a horrid sadist controlled the woman she adored. Revolted by his perverted games, she set aside her own dislike of men to find a better Master for her lover. Melanie even came to terms with the possibility that she might lose Theresa entirely in order to give her what she needed.

One of my co-authors is Elizabeth Coldwell, former editor of Forum Magazine who has purchased a number of my short stories and reviewed Broken, Shattered, and Dommemoir for Forum. In Elizabeth's story, "Sticky Fingers," Sylvie Noble's suggestively named cupcake appalls Lavinia Crosse, who runs the village committee. Their passionate confrontation will tempt you to create sticky fingers of your own.

Back in December, I discussed "Female Domination, Male Submission" with Deborrah Cooper, aka Ms. HeartBeat, on The Date Smarter Not Harder Relationships Talk Show. Shakhir Warren-Bey called in during the show.

Tuesday I received a message on Facebook from Shakhir aka Dr. Bey of Live Sex Talk Radio with Dr. Robinson and Dr.Bey. "Leather, Whips and Chains!! Oh My. Shining a light on the dark side of S&M Bondage" was the topic for the February 24 show. He remembered our conversation in December and asked would I like to join in?

Although short notice, I had no plans for Wednesday evening and how could an erotica writer and sex-positive advocate pass up an invitation to appear on a show called "Live Sex Talk Radio"? I'm glad I did, because I had a fabulous time. Fans of Live Sex Talk Radio don't just listen to the show. They call in. They ask questions. They voice their opinions. I very much enjoyed the conversation.

I'm honored to again have an opportunity to participate in the Seattle Erotic Art Festival Literary Art Showcase. Last year I had the privilege of working with Literary Art Showcase Director Shana Deon, an amazing woman who conceived of the Showcase and invested a tremendous amount of energy and innovation to make it happen. She worked with the SEAF team to incorporate the first ever erotic literary showcase produced as part of any erotic art show.

Founded in 2002 by the Foundation for Sex Positive Culture, the Seattle Erotic Art Festival promotes freedom of sexuality, speech and creativity through the erotic expression of fine art. The juried event, which has expanded over the years and now fills an exhibit hall at the Seattle Center, features work not easily found in mainstream galleries and museums. Selected pieces show the diversity of human sexual expression and explore the vast creativity that artists employ.

Created to highlight writing as an art form, the 2009 inaugural Literary Showcase featured work by poets, playwrights and authors from across the country. During SEAF, selected writing was exhibited through live readings and specially designed books in a luxurious environment created by Director Shana.

I enjoyed working with Shana so much last year, that I signed on early this year to help her make the showcase even more spectacular. (Plus, I owe SEAF a great personal debt, since I met my precious submissive, Patrick, there last year.)

This year I'll help promote the showcase and will select the pieces exhibited from the finalists chosen by the other jurors. I'll also attend the festival and do a reading sometime during the weekend. If you're interested in submitting a piece for consideration, the call for writers is open until March 15.

Writing is a solitary profession. I often don't leave my house for days at a time in order to concentrate on my work. Social media allows much more interaction between authors and their readers than in times past, but we still work in isolation.

That's why reviews and reader comments are so important. They let us know that someone is paying attention. And, positive reviews and comments can make any day brighter.

Before this year, I completed National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) twice.

This fall, I very much wanted to draft out a mystery/thriller that has festered in the back of my mind for many years. But, I also wanted to draft out a fantasy romance novel that I'm writing in collaboration with my submissive, Patrick. For many reasons, I couldn't get to either before November.

So, I signed up to do NaNoWriMo twice. In one month. I know I'm not the only author who has done so. I know for many, the level of output is something they do year-round. But, for me, it will be an accomplishment: more than 100,000 words written in one month.

The Salem launch of Dommemoir was hosted by Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo because owner Emily Cahal was an invaluable resource when I was researching the body mod scenes in Dommemoir.

Of course, she had to have her own, autographed copy. She didn't take it home, right away, however. I heard from one of the staff on Saturday who had started reading Emily's copy of Dommemoir and wanted to know if she could please buy one of her own? On Monday, I stopped by to oblige only to learn that another staffer also had read the first three chapters of Emily's copy and also wanted to purchase her own copy.

Thinking there might be other visitors at Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo who might enjoy reading Dommemoir , Emily has acquired a few copies to sell to customers, friends, and lovers of erotica.

The wonderful staff at Addictions Body Piercing & Tattoo in downtown Salem hosted the local launch of Dommemoir. With the sound of the tattoo needle buzzing in the background, I read selections from Dommemoir and poems from Pain of Love, and autographed books. Thanks to all who came and helped celebrate!

I was honored to appear as featured author on the world premier edition of the Inkwell radio show. If you missed it, you can listen to the archives. Dedicated to helping writers move forward in their craft and achieve success, The Inkwell is an entertaining AND informative radio program. The interviews on the subject of "So you write erotica, now what ..." were so interesting, the show ran an extra half hour.

At my Seattle launch of Dommemoir, I had some delightful people attend my workshop. Paul Beidler of Fanny Press brought the most wonderful cake from The Erotic Bakery for the festivities after the workshop.

While the cake slowly disappeared, I read erotic passages from all three of my novels, as well as poems from my limited-edition chapbook Pain of Love.

As part of National Novel Writing Month, I wrote 51,000 words of the first draft of my next novel, Playing with Dolls.

I signed a contract with The Nazca Plains Corporation to publish the novels, Broken and Shattered, which were drafted during National Novel Writing Month 2006.

As part of National Novel Writing Month I wrote 63,300 words in one month.

That draft eventually evolved into the novels Broken and Shattered.

"Salt for His Wounds" won first place in an e-zine short story contest. The story and its sequels, "The Mercantile", "The Things We Do for Love", and "Paid in Full" are available for purchase, individually and as a collection (which includes the bonus story "Renovations").
